Now that we've had some time with and exposure to Mafia, I've got a couple of questions.  Do you like the way the days have been timed, going with a majority vote unless gameplay slows down at which point a time limit is imposed, or would you rather have a set, consistent length on the days if majority isn't reached.

I went with just a really basic Townies vs. Mafia format this time mostly because work was busy and it required less thought.  I'm thinking about doing the next one as a vampire flavored mafia game, but haven't decided.  If you have any theme ideas, throw them out.  No time machines though.  Not now, not ever.  At least not like that.

Lastly, if you have any comments about things that could have been better with this one, or suggestions for future ones, throw them out.

I like the way the timing has been handled so far, that seems to have worked well.

If more people play, I think a few more of the "special" roles might be cool, cop, doctor, etc.

I am really liking this game so far.

Personally, I can't really compare this one to anything, since I'm a newb.  I think it was pretty cool, though.

I don't much have any complaints, really.  The pace was good.

Vampire theme sounds neat.

We could always do a 1984 type thing, but that may be a bit bland.  There you have "Outer Party" "Inner Party" and "Proles"(in this case, the Proles who are exercising Free Thought, and trying to evade the Party... with a traitor in their midst... I dunno.. )  then with the optional "Big Brother" role... then again that might take a bit of work to make work, and be crazy sounding to anyone who never read the book.

I'm considering running a game with a western theme.

Sheriff, Deputy, Townsfolk, Outlaws, Banditos

The Battle of Dodge City!

All good ideas.

I think it has gone very well pace-wise Bob.  The flexible days/nights works better for busy folk.  I also think it has been a good "starter" game.

Thanks for heading this one up.

Didn't you do a western themed one at cad vault?  I remember you talking about it, but don't remember the game so maybe you didn't get around to it.  You ran one though, didn't you?

oh yea.. the basic game was great for getting the new guys up to snuff... I think it was a good choice based on the majority of us being new.

nice job bob!

i think you have handled things great.

another idea to throw out to you for a game...

somthing like survivor on-line.

2 teams, that have to answer questions (from information found on-line) each "day"
the winning team each day, votes off someone from the opposing team, or the losing team could vote off one of their own.
last team standing wins.

just an idea. ???

That sounds fun AZ.  As long as peeps don't take it too seriously and whine if they get voted off.

Coming up with challenges would be fun.

Timing might be quite a bit harder if peeps need to operate as a "team".

I like that idea.  I actually talked to Randall about doing that.  We got bogged down on what the "challenges" would be and it just went away.  I agree that it could be a lot of fun though.
